Having left a career in the banking industry after 10 years due to family commitments, it gave Ranjini the opportunity to re-consider her options going forward in terms of her passion - cooking.
Being raised in the Ceylon Tamil culture, its specialties in Ceylonese cookery simply added a plus point to her passion and a promising opportunity to cater and serve others. As fate would have it, homebased catering became an opportunity to supplement her income, in addition to meeting her commitments towards her family.
As always, the initial venture was slow and draggy. However with Ranjini’s dogmatic emphasis of quality over quantity, and her customarily limiting the figures to between 20–100 pax per event, her catering grew with inspiring testimonials from customers over time.
Ranjini’s menu which now encompasses Ceylonese, Indian and Chinese styles eventually tickled the taste buds for multiple occasions like birthday parties, pre-wedding dinners, religious and baby-naming ceremonies, etc.
To-date, Ranjini’s enthusiasm in home-based food preparations has not waned. The quality of food was, is, and always will be her rule of thumb.
